Pratis Barns is one of Fife’s finest examples of a traditional covered cattle court, built in the late 1700’s and is Grade B listed. I am one of their preferred suppliers as a Celebrant based in Fife.
The 6-bay barns form the heart of the venue for your reception and party, with endless options and unique spaces to make your own. Owners Nicola and Patrick have many years of experience between them of arranging weddings.
The ceremony barn offers a truly rustic, relaxed and beautiful feel to your wedding ceremony. As an old hay barn, it has all the original doors and cubby holes for where the hay was brought in for the cattle. It's now adorned with fairy lights and candles, and is yours to transform in to a magical, romantic backdrop for your “I Do’s”. The barn can be heated for your ceremony making it nice and cosy if needed.
You don’t need to worry about the Scottish weather as they have fantastic in and outdoor reception areas. The walled garden offers a wonderful option, with incredible views to the south and west, and just enough of a wall to give shelter from the Scottish breeze.
In front of the main barn there is a newly created outdoor seating area and fire pit to gather around. Whilst enjoying the unbroken views across the Firth of Forth, to the Bass Rock guarding the way in from the North Sea.
Inside the first reception area, the ‘Day Barn’ is a perfect place to welcome your guests and serve drinks and canapés.
The second reception area, the ‘Party Barn’, is used for both your dining and dancing. Our fully stocked, licensed bar and the stage fill the back wall. There are timber beams to hang decorations from as well as permanent fairy lights, professional spot lights and wall up-lighters.
I adore conducting weddings at Pratis Barns, it is such an incredible space! I'm looking forward to marrying couples here again next year and into 2024!
Nicola and Patrick have recently refurbished Pratis House, a beautiful farm house adjacent to the main venue. You can book to stay in the house providing for onsite accomodation and exclusive use for your big day.
In-house catering is available to create your perfect wedding breakfast.

No expense was spared in Culzean’s creation. Designed for the 10th Earl of Cassillis as a flamboyant show of status, the castle even has its own viaduct – a spectacular way for you and your guests to make a grand entrance.
Inside the castle there’s a variety of decadent spaces that are perfect for your wedding ceremony. You can enjoy panoramic sea views from the spectacular Round Drawing Room, take exclusive use of the Eisenhower Apartment and treat your guests like VIPs, or say ‘I do’ at the top of the spectacular Oval Staircase. The keys to the castle are yours.
Stashed away around the castle’s grounds you'll find some ‘secret’ spots that are perfect for traditional and non-traditional weddings alike.
The Camellia House is a delightful Victorian folly built of stone and glass – with the sun shining in and the garden in full bloom, there’s no better place for an intimate ceremony.
You can also host a handful of guests in the Orangery, which once supplied the castle with exotic fruit and flowers. Who wouldn’t want to say your vows surrounded by citrus trees and blossoming buds?
On top of all the covered spaces, you’ve also got hundreds of acres of parks, woodland and beaches to play with. If you choose to tie the knot in the open air you can open up a whole new world of wedding possibilities – the only limit is your imagination! I cannot wait to return to Culzean next year. It truly is breathtaking!
Culzean Castle is a National Trust for Scotland property. The castle and its grounds are open to everyone, all year round (the castle closes to the public for the duration of your celebrations). There's plenty of opportunity to take in a visit and scope out the possibilities.
By choosing a Trust property for your wedding you are also supporting the Trust's conservation work.

There's been a settlement at Falside since as far back as the 14th century, but the farm and steading, before its conversion, is thought to date back to the late 18th/early 19th century and would've been part of the Pitmilly lands, owned by the Moneypenny family for several centuries, until the estate was broken up around a century ago. This venue has many parts to it.

Dunkeld House Hotel is a stunning estate located right in the heart of the Perthshire countryside. May is your dedicated wedding coordinator and she is a delight to work with. She really knows her venue, down to predicting the weather in some cases!
